man on wire

I love this film. Man On Wire is about Philippe Petit, the French juggler and performance artist who in 1974, spent 45 minutes walking, dancing, and lying down on a tightrope illegally rigged between the two newly-constructed WTC towers. It's simply an astonishing feat, and still difficult to believe that he and his motley crew of cohorts actually pulled it off...and this, British filmmaker James Marsh's documentary film about the escapade, is so inspiring and poetic that even an art-house curmudgeon couldn't find fault. It was thrilling and sweet, and I was totally pulled into the adventure and beauty of "the coup"... it's definitely one of the best films I've seen in a while...
